Quantity Surveyor
Our client, established in 1870, is one of the UK’s longest-standing independent construction companies, known for delivering sustainable construction projects across the UK. With a rich legacy in the built environment and a reputation for high-quality construction and innovation, they are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team for a permanent role.
Role Overview:
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be working on a prestigious £40 million educational construction project based in Aberystwyth. This exciting project includes the restoration of Grade I and Grade II listed buildings, along with the development and modernisation of existing structures. The project, once completed, will feature three thematic zones: World of Knowledge, Culture and Community, and Enterprise and Innovation, creating a center for learning, heritage, culture, and business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all financial aspects of the project, including cost control, budget forecasting, and contract compliance.
- Lead the procurement and management of tenders, ensuring adherence to the project’s financial targets.
- Work closely with project managers and contractors to oversee project budgets, resolve issues, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Conduct regular on-site visits to monitor progress and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Provide detailed cost reports and maintain effective financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, ideally with experience on Commercial build schemes or large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and industry regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Ability to work independently and within a team to meet project deadlines.
